Graduations & Good Times

When I got the graduation date for one of my best friends of 16 years, I knew I had to clear my schedule and make sure I was there! I hopped online and scored a $30 round trip Megabus ticket for the win!! I can go on and on about Megabus but let’s just say I am a fan, they get you to where you need to go without breaking bank! Sure, the ride was 8 hours but good thing I like to read, write, nap, and listen to music!

My friend lives in Pittsburgh, PA and that is where the graduation was being held. I love visiting for several reasons, 1-because I get to hang out with her obviously, 2- I love the food, 3- I always have a great time!

Arrival

Upon arrival, after we got all of our shrieking, screaming, and hugging out of the way she took me to Texas de Brazil Brazilian Steakhouse. This is an authentic all you can eat steakhouse where the meat is cooked to perfection in a traditional Brazilian way known as Churrasco and served to you by professional meat carvers. She had a VIP card which you purchase for $62.99 and receive 50% off on 12 dinners, this can add up to savings of $245-$300! Sooo, we ate until we could barely walk and chugged down a pitcher of sangria. When we went to pay, the joke was on us… the card was not valid on Saturdays! Lol (talk about a wine glass half empty moment!)

Graduation Day

What an emotional day! I love seeing people win, especially when they are so close to me and if you only knew the trials and tribulations my friend has been through to still be able to prevail and obtain her bachelor’s degree! Won’t He do it! Seeing her walk across the stage was a proud moment! Ms. Graduate of Chatham University! Go Britt! Check out the pics below

Celebrate!

We celebrated afterwards with lunch and drinks at Sienna Mercato restaurant. This unique restaurant serves Italian food with a twist and I love a good Italian dish! This is when I found out that her friend was an Elite Yelp member. Ummmm how do I become a part of this secret society?? I want all the perks!!

We continued the celebration in the Strip District which is lined with gourmet food shops, classic Italian eateries, converted warehouses by day and upbeat contemporary bars by night. We bar hopped until we were all partied out!

Departure

The next day was my departure day. We decided to go out to eat at Nakama restaurant. I can recall my first time ever visiting my friend in Pittsburgh years ago our first stop was Nakama so when we arrived it immediately brought back memories. Nakama provided the perfect send off meal, Japanese cuisine cooked hibachi style. It was a great way to end such a wonderful trip. We ate and reflected on the past weekend filled with good times and and accomplishments!

Let’s pour our wine glasses half full and give a Cheers to Britt for Graduating!

Wine Glass Half Empty: Texas de Brazil really does not grant the promotion on Saturdays???
Wine Glass Half Full: This taught us how to read the fine print!

Let’s chat, have you ever visited Pittsburgh, PA before? What are your favorite things to do there?
