It is truly mind boggling when you think about how fast a year can go by. Time waits for no one! This post will reflect on how I brought in the new year last year, which still feels like it was just a week ago!
We had so much fun in 2016 when we brought in the New Year together as a family in Orlando Florida at Sheraton Vistana Villas that we could not stop thinking about doing it again and trying a different location. We finally decided on the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania and began planning for the 2018 New Year.
We checked in at Lake Harmony Lodge for our 5 day stay, I must say the check in process was not so smooth. Unfortunately, there was a really long line and we learned that they were having a problem with their system which continued for the duration of our stay… but we got through it. The rooms were a very nice size, full living area and kitchen, with separate bedroom areas and the bathrooms had showers and Jacuzzi tubs. Our rooms were also connected by a door which was nice. Our first night we settled in with some food and home-made margaritas made by yours truly 🙂
We enjoyed amenities around the resort like bowling and the restaurant/bar.
We spent New Years eve at near by Jack Frost Lodge, this is where activities like skiing and snow tubing are held. Our stay at Lake harmony came with 15% off of winter activity packages which were pretty decently priced. We opted for 3 hour snow tubing. I reallllyyyy wanted to go ice skating but for whatever reason it was not available at that time of year…it was upsetting but it didn’t stop my fun. In the lodge we were able to warm up with hot drinks like coffee with butterscotch schnapps… Yummm.
There is something about bringing in the New Year with the ones you love that is so fulfilling. More family members were unable to make the trip but our small group had a really good time just hanging out and doing something different in the cold, cold mountains in the Poconos.
Happy New Year!!
2018 was a great year for me. I did not accomplish everything that I set out to accomplish but that just gives me more motivation to work harder. I have learned a lot of things about myself and I have recognized things that I need to work on, one being letting go and letting God take control. I went back to school to earn a Master’s degree, I traveled, I saw family that I have not seen in many years, I became inspired by positive people I met this year and I hope that I have inspired others, and lastly I finally followed my dreams and started this blog! Thank you all for your support! I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store!
I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

Wine Glass Half Full: Learning how to give myself more praise for all that I do accomplish!
You are right that felt like last week not last year!
Yes! Time goes by so fast!
