Celebrate!

Am I the only one who gets a sad feeling when someone says they are not celebrating their birthday? It can be a friend or even a stranger, and it is not necessarily because I feel bad for them but more so because I just can’t understand why they would not want to celebrate the day they came in to this world.

Then again, everyone is different right? Maybe it has to do with people’s upbringing? I know my mom instilled in me the importance of celebrating my birthday from a young age. For as long as I can remember, I always had a birthday party, and they ranged from- slumber parties, costume parties, my first dance party at age 13, a sweet sixteen (limo and all!), surprise birthday party at 21, and even my friends have threw a few parties for me! Some say I follow in my my mother’s footsteps… Let me let y’all in on a little secret… My mom celebrates her birthday for a whole season! Yes, you read that right, she starts in December and goes through February throwing all the holidays, my dad’s birthday, and her mom’s birthday in to the mix! Actually, my whole family loves to celebrate, for example, when someone moves you know we have to have a housewarming, when someone graduates the graduation party will be lit, my cousin gets a new job, oh let’s party! And the list goes on! Looking for an excuse to get together as a family is never hard for us!

I say all of this to say, that we need to remember to count our blessings! Waking up to see another year is never promised, so when it happens it should definitely be celebrated! I am not putting all of my birthday parties out there to brag but rather to say I am blessed!

With that being said… I recently celebrated a birthday!! Woo Hoo! I decided to couple my birthday celebration with a blog launch party, being that my blog is still fairly new! Even though I was nervous about the idea I decided to face my fears and go for it! I held the party in Lancaster PA at Caribbean Wave Restaurant, my cousin owns the restaurant and they were just coming up on their 1 year anniversary so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to celebrate together. I hustled around to create amazing door prizes and merchandise with my logo, I even had wine glasses for sale (coming to my site soon 🙂 ) and let me just say… the LOVE and SUPPORT on that day was more than I could have ever asked for or imagined. Family and friends came from near and far and I was truly overwhelmed. This birthday and blog launch party was one that will never be forgotten! To those of you that were able to make it and showed your support… Thank You Thank You Thank You!

If you are ever in the Lancaster PA area be sure to check out Caribbean Wave Restaurant.

Check out pictures from the event!

Here are some of the products that I used as giveaways! More products coming soon 🙂 Make sure to check out my  products page and recommended Amazon products page in the meantime.

And these nails tho! My birthday set from Nails By Nirae 🙂

Wine Glass Half Empty- Whew Chile, the anxiety leading up to this party with all that goes in to making sure it goes off without a hitch was quite exhausting.

Wine Glass Half Full- Do things ever go exactly the way you plan them in your head? Rarely.. and that is OK. The party was a huge success and everyone had a great time. The amount of love that was in the room on that day was unbelievable!

  1. This looked like an amazing event!! I agree I always feel sad when people say they don’t celebrate their birthdays or it’s just another day. I feel like yes it is another day, another day to celebrate yourself!! I love how you paired it with your blog launch! And your nails were a dope touch!! I loved them

  2. Happy belated birthday and congrats on your launch party!! My birthday is in January and my blog will be four months at that time so you really have me thinking.. 🤔
I agree, it’s a blessing to be alive and is definitely worth celebrating, but my partner hates celebrating her own birthdays (especially her 30th back in October). 🤷🏽‍♀️

  3. I love love love birthdays! It’s truly the one day of the year that is all about you! I usually go all out on my special day and make sure my friends feel extra special for their birthdays!

  4. Hey Lady! I’m so glad that your event went well. I definitely would have come if I was closer. ( I think i told you that on IG already). It definitely looks like you have a great time.

  5. What an awesome way to bring in your birthday! I also could never understand why someone wouldn’t want to celebrate their birthday. Even on our worst days, there are so many things to be thankful for — including the fact that we can think about what’s happening. I’m glad you used it as an opportunity to make such a big step!
